My family loves the location of the Epcot Area resorts. You can walk or boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, or catch the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. But what sets the Beach Club and Yacht Club apart from the other options are that they share the best pool, or maybe more appropriately, water park, on Disney property - Stormalong Bay.
Stormalong Bay is over 3 acres of fun! There is something for literally everyone. First, a large sandy bottom shallow area that is perfect for littles. They will spend hours playing in the sand!
There are also a couple of less populated alcoves that tend to be quieter and relaxed for those who would like a little peace and quiet. You can also find a couple hot tubs to unwind in after a long day at the parks.
Speaking of peace and quiet, the lazy river is absolutely the perfect place to relax. The guests are provided floats and life jackets, which are helpful since the lazy river is 8 feet deep in spots.
The favorite of many is the Ship Wreck water slide. The slide starts at the ship wrecked pirate ship on the sandy beach of Crescent Lake. The slide itself is 230 feet and goes over the walkway from the beach to the main pool area. In addition, there is a smaller slide for toddlers to join in on the experience!
That’s not all! Many Disney Resorts are known for their poolside activities and Stormalong Bay is no different! There are trivia questions, poolside games, and music during various times of day. They also offer tie-dying by the pool.
When you are hungry (or need an adult beverage), head over to Hurricane Hannah’s for some tasty treats.
Or, you can order “to go” from Martha’s Vineyard at Beach Club or Ale & Compass from Yacht Club. We enjoyed both of those options during our stay and they did not disappoint.
Martha’s Vineyard even offers the famous cake shakes as my family calls them. These are made by Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and are a delicious option to enjoy at the pool.
Also available and highly sought after are cabana rentals. These are full or half day rentals that are bookable 60 days before your arrival. They book extremely fast.
Cabanas offer the following amenities:
-Dedicated Cast Member providing service to the cabanas
-Cocktail service
-Ceiling fan
-Padded furniture, including chairs and couch
-Television with cable access
-Charging outlet/USB
-Mini refrigerator stocked with complimentary sodas and water
-Fruit basket (may not be available without advance reservation)
-Plush towels
-Cabinet safe
Stormalong Bay really takes your Disney vacation to another level. Make sure to schedule some down time to enjoy plenty of time at the pool. In fact, we enjoy our time at the resort almost as much as we do our time in the parks. It instantly takes our fast-paced Disney vacation down to an enjoyable relaxing “beach vacation” without ever leaving the Disney bubble. Now that’s some Disney Magic!
