What You Need to Know About Volcano Bay Reopening

Who doesn't like an awesome water park on a sunny, hot day? Volcano Bay, located at Universal Orlando, is a theme park all by itself. Thrilling, yet relaxing, you will find plenty to keep your family occupied and happy!

Volcano Bay is reopening today, February 26, 2021! The park will have limited capacity, which it always had in some form, even before COVID-19. Face coverings will be mandatory to enter the park, in restaurants, and in retail shops. Face coverings may not be worn on water slides and in the pools. Temperature checks and bag checks will be completed upon entry.

Currently, tickets to Volcano Bay are available as single-day tickets or as part of a 3 park ticket package. Your Skye's the Limit Vacations travel advisor will help you navigate which park tickets would be the best deal for you.

If you’ve previously purchased a three park pass and postponed your trip due to COVID-19, this page has some helpful info.

Are you ready to enjoy Volcano Bay? We are! But first, we want to share a few tips to make the most of your day at Volcano Bay.

Arrive Early

If you are staying at a Universal Resort or you purchased your tickets through a travel advisor, you may be able to enter Volcano Bay for Early Park Admission. You will need to verify park hours for your visit to confirm Early Park Admission is available that day. Volcano Bay can and will hit capacity, so we recommend getting as early of a start as possible.

As soon as you arrive, secure your seats and a locker if needed. The most popular spots will be on the main beach straight ahead when you walk in. However, of you are looking for more secluded rest spots, keep walking. There are lots of little coves and hidden areas with chairs.

Don't shy away from a rainy day. The crowds clear out and the rain is usually short lived.

Set Up Cashless Payment

You’ll need to download the Universal Orlando App and connect your credit card. Once you’ve done that, you won’t have to worry about carrying cash or credit cards! You can use your Tapu Tapu wrist band to pay for food and drinks, merchandise in the park, locker and towel rental, and more.

Use your Tapu Tapu

"What in the world is a Tapu Tapu and how do I get one?" you ask? When you enter Volcano Bay, you will receive a wristband similar to a watch, for each member of your party. These bands will not only allow you charging privileges as mentioned above, but they will be your secret to avoiding wasting time in lines waiting for the most popular rides! Just tap your Tapu Tapu in the designated spot at the entrance of the attraction. You will then be given a return time. Go enjoy yourself until your Tapu Tapu buzzes and tells you it is time to return. It is that easy!

You can also use your Tapu Tapu for photo opportunities throughout the park.

Rent a Cabana

If you plan to spend a full day at Volcano Bay, renting a cabana for the day can be a great investment. Each retreat offers padded lounge chairs, a small refrigerator stocked with bottled water, complimentary fruit and snack basket, towel and locker service, plus concierge service with an exclusive menu of food and drink delivered directly to the cabana. One-story and two-story retreats are located throughout the park.
